Three-time World Medalist Audrey Jimenez To Defend Ranking vs Anaya Falcon

Audrey Jimenez, one of America's most credentialed high school wrestlers ever, will defend her 106 lb #1 national ranking against two-time California state champ Anaya Falcon at this year's edition of Who's Number One, the premier high school wrestling event.

Jimenez and Falcon are ranked number one and two in the national high school girls rankings. They're both coming off state championship seasons. Jimenez won an Arizona girls title at 114 lbs while Falcon won the California state championship at 106.

After winning an Arizona state crown, Jimenez wrestled at Women's Nationals, winning the U20 world team trials at 50kg. She then wrestled at the US Open, also at 50kg, and won that, beating 2012 & 2013 world bronze medalist Alyssa Lampe in the finals.

Jimenez would fall to Sarah Hildebrant two matches to none at Final X, but bounced back in August to win a U20 silver medal in Amman, Jordan.

That silver was Jimenez's third time on an age-level world championship podium. She also won a U17 bronze in 2021 and another U20 silver in 2022. Jimenez will return to Sunnyside High School in the fall to complete her high school career.

Falcon will be looking for revenge for the match she dropped to Jimenez in the 2022 High School Showcase finals at 106 lbs. She's gone on to win a Reno Tournament of Champions title since then and has already avenged a previous loss to Morales at the 2023 California State Championships, so she'll be hoping to have jumped another level since she last locked horns with Jimenez.

Audrey has been improving as well, so this match will be a great test to see just how far Falcon has progressed. It all goes down at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on September 2.
