Fargo Champ Diduch Gets Rematch With World Bronze Medalist Jaffe At WNO

Cadence Diduch will enter her third Who's Number One looking for revenge against top-ranked Hailey Jaffe, who will arrive at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside for the match with a freshly earned U17 world bronze medal. Jaffe defeated Diduch two matches to none at Women's Nationals to make the world team. Diduch will also have momentum on her side, however, as she won a Junior National championship in Fargo since her last match with Jaffe.

Jaffe is ranked #1 while Diduch is the next highest ranked female wrestler with high school eligibility next season, leaving no doubt that this matchup will determine the number one wrestler in the nation. Jaffe will be a senior at Kennett High School in southeast Pennsylvania, while Diduch wrestles out of Freeport, Illinois.

Jaffe placed at 16U Nationals in Fargo in 2021 and 2022 before her breakout performance at the U17 World Team Trials in April of 2023. Jaffe then battled her way through a bracket of the best teenage wrestlers in the world, defeating competitors from Poland, Russia and Turkey to earn a bronze, losing only to the eventual champ from India in the semifinals.

Diduch has been ranked either number one or close to it for over two years. She won her 2021 Who's Number One bout over Zao Estrada and lost an 8-8 nailbiter to Everest Leydecker at the 2022 event. Diduch also placed at 2022's Super 32 and won a 2032 Illinois state title before her Fargo run that earned her a Golden Ticket to WNO.

Can Diduch reverse the results from the team trials, or will Jaffe shut Diduch down and retain her number one ranking? It all goes down at UW-Parkside on September 2!
