The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Men’s Soccer Players of the Week for games played in during the fifth week of the 2023 season. Wingate swept the awards, as Pablo Pozos was named the Offensive Player of the Week and Pedro Santos was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Pozos, a freshman from Madrid, Spain, had two goals and an assist in the 2-0 week for the Bulldogs. He did all of his damage in the win at Newberry, with two goals and an assist, including the game-winning goal in the 3-0 win. Pozos also piled up seven shots on the night.

Santos, a junior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, anchored a Wingate defense that notched a pair of SAC shutouts. In addition, Santos netted the game-winning goal in the victory over Lenoir-Rhyne. The All-SAC and All-Region honoree helped lead a defense that allowed just 12 shots in 180 minutes of action, including just two shots on goal.
