Elon Football receiver Landyn Backey laid out and came away with one of the best catches of the day in CAA action on Oct. 7. 

Backey put the Phoenix in the redzone with a diving, 32-yard catch down the sideline against NCCU that helped them take a 10-0 lead after the first quarter. It was Backey's first career catch as the redshirt freshman from Monroe, North Carolina made an impact in his sixth career game.

Elon is coming off a huge win over then-No. 4-ranked William & Mary a week ago. Last week, Elon used the arm of Matthew Downing to pull off that win as Downing threw two touchdowns on 14-of-20 passing for 187 yards in the 14-6 win.
