Star Welsh Fly-Half Gareth Anscombe Out Of Georgia Match With An Injury
Wales' Gareth Anscombe was sidelined by injury before the Rugby World Cup 2023 clash with Georgia. Get the latest updates on this crucial setback.
Wales has been dealt an injury blow, as fly-half Gareth Anscombe picked up an injury during the warm-ups ahead of his team's final Rugby World Cup pool match with Georgia.
Anscombe's injury sees 22-year-old Sam Costelow start in the No. 10 shirt, with Dan Biggar coming onto the bench.
Biggar's return to the bench is not ideal for Wales, given he was carrying an injury in the upper chest area.

The injury initially was feared to be a potential tournament-ending one. Fortunately, however, a later diagnosis said the experienced pivot would be available for the quarterfinals.
The Georgia match will be Costelow's eighth cap for Wales, having made his debut against New Zealand in the 2022 November International series.
