FloWrestler Of The Week: Jacob Warner, Iowa

Iowa's Jacob Warner spurned the freshman-sophomore division for the open bracket at the Lindenwood Open and impressively navigated his way through four matches to win the tournament title in St. Charles, MO, on Saturday.

The Hawkeyes true freshman 197-pounder notched two decisions, including a hard-fought 3-1 overtime win over Oklahoma's Andrew Dixon in the semis and a dominating technical fall over West Virginia's Hunter DeLong in the quarters, before meeting third-ranked Willie Miklus of Missouri in the finals.

Warner looked unfazed in his matchup up against the two-time All-American and scored first, last, and often to major Miklus 16-7 with riding time. Warner used a number of leg attacks, including a low double to cap off the win in the last seconds of the bout.

Jacob Warner’s flawless weekend makes him our FloWrestler of the Week.
