BREAKING: #14 Kanen Storr Granted Immediate Release From Iowa State

Kanen Storr, the #14 wrestler at 141 pounds, has wrestled his last match for Iowa State and is looking for a new program to call home.

On Tuesday, Iowa State announced that Cyclones head coach Kevin Dresser has accepted the redshirt freshman's request for an immediate release to transfer from the program.

Iowa State Athletics Communications released the following statement in regard to Storr:

Iowa State freshman Kanen Storr has asked for and been granted a release to transfer.

The native of Leslie, MI, has compiled a 15-7 record this season and is ranked 14th by FloWrestling.

“Kanen (Storr) requested permission to transfer to another institution,” Iowa State head coach Kevin Dresser said. “I am going to honor that request and allow him the one-time transfer exception.”

Storr, who was 25-5 and runner-up at the Dave Schultz Memorial International as a redshirt freshman, will not compete for Iowa State anymore this season.

Storr finished fifth at the Midlands while redshirting as a true freshman and recently placed eighth in a brutal Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational bracket this season. Storr's last match in a Cyclone singlet was a sudden-victory loss to West Virginia's Christian Monserrat in last Sunday's dual meet.

No word on yet on where Storr might land, but with his resume and with three years of remaining eligibility it is a safe bet that he will be receiving plenty of attention from DI coaches.
