Should Lucas Davison Go Right Away For Northwestern?
Is Lucas Davison ready to go right away for Northwestern?
OK people, I think we need to give Indiana some props.
Most commonly known out of this class is Brayton Lee and Mason Parris, who we’ve seen smash almost everything that moves. But those two aren’t the only ones headed off to battle in the Big Ten. The guy I’m focusing on here is Northwestern-bound Lucas Davison.
In my mind, Davison may be one of the best under-the-radar recruits in this class. He’s got the results to back that up, too.
At last year's Super 32 he was the runner-up to Ohio’s Jared Ball, 5-1. After that, there wasn’t a blemish on his record to be found. In all but three matches during the regular season, he collected bonus points with an overwhelming majority of his matches ending in a fall. He finished as a very solid undefeated state champion and rolled right into freestyle and greco season. He took his lump and dished some out against college level competition at the U.S. Open where he was seventh defeating Bennett Paulson, Kevin Snyder, Austin Harris, and Cade Belshay. His losses came at the hands of eventual runner-up John Borst in the quarter and Danny Salas on the backside.

That was the end of him taking losses as he moved on to Fargo.
That’s where he shined brightest as he dominated the freestyle and greco fields to take home both stop signs. Out of the 13 matches he wrestled, just one finished as a regular decision and that was his 9-3 win over Tyrell Gordon in the round of 16 of the greco tournament. That was also the only time on the way to his second title of the weekend that he was scored on.
With the amount of competing he has done lately along with how he’s battled with just about everyone, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him wrestle right away for Northwestern.
