Jansen Gomes from Checkmat had the performance of a lifetime today when with six wins on his way to becoming the 2019 Middleweight purple belt World Champion.

The 17-year-old Rio native began his campaign with two monster submissions and then continued forward with four more hard-fought battles, including a brutal final match with rival Tainan Dalpra from Atos.

The World title caps an excellent year for Gomes, who' took home gold at Europeans, Silver at Pans, Gold at World Pro, and has now added a World title to his resume.
