FloRacing will provide live coverage of the return of the prestigious Night Before the 500, featuring a Sprint Car and Midget Special Event at the .686-mile paved oval of Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg, Ind. on August 21-22.

The event, which has roots dating to its 1946 debut at the former 16th Street Speedway, makes its return with a tantalizing open wheel doubleheader after a six-year hiatus with a 50-lap Sprint Car feature paying $10,000 to win and a 30-lap feature event for the midgets with the victor taking home $5,000.

The Night Before the 500 was held at Lucas Oil Raceway continuously for all but three years between 1969 and 2014, and boasts a winner’s list that includes the likes of Indianapolis 500 winners Sam Hanks (1947) and Johnnie Parsons (1948), plus NASCAR stars Ken Schrader (1983), Jeff Gordon (1989-90), Ryan Newman (1997 & 99), and Kasey Kahne (2000-01), 2019 NHRA U.S. Nationals Top Fuel winner Doug Kalitta (1992), and USAC kings Mel Kenyon (1963-65-77-80), Rich Vogler (1978) and Tracy Hines (2012 & 14), among many others.

On the first day of the Night Before the 500, Friday, August 21, the gates open at 7am Eastern, tentatively followed by midget and sprint practice between 8:30am and 2:25pm, then onto Midget Qualifying at 3pm and Sprint Car Qualifying at 4pm, followed by Carb Night Classic festivities at a time to be announced.

For Saturday, August 22, the gates open at noon, with the tentative schedule beginning with Non-Qualified Midget Practice between 1:30pm and 2:25pm followed by Non-Qualified Sprint Car Practice from 2:30pm to 3pm.  Opening ceremonies commence at 7:30pm, leading into the Midget B-Main at 8pm, Sprint Car B-Main at 8:20pm, the Midget feature at 9pm and the Sprint Car feature set for 9:30pm.
