The fourth-ranked 113-pounder in the country, Andre Gonzales, has committed to the Ohio State University. Gonzales won a California state title last year for Poway High School in the San Diego metro area.
Gonzales stated the reason for choosing the Buckeyes was the relationship he developed with head coach Tom Ryan during the recruiting process. Also on Gonzales' shortlist were Cornell, Missouri, Stanford, and Wisconsin.
Projected as a 125-pounder, Gonzales will be able to take after current Buckeye rising junior Malik Heinselman graduates, assuming Gonzales take a redshirt season. Gonzales will have competition from the Koontz brothers and rising redshirt freshman Jacob Decatur for the job.
Gonzales was a double Fargo champ, winning Junior Greco and freestyle titles, both at 106-pounds.

Gonzales is #39 on the 2021 Big Board, and joins Paddy Gallagher, #7 on the same board, in the Buckeye recruiting class of 2021.
