Aguilar in on a shot off the whistle, but Heinselman defends. Aguilar in deep on a second attack, but Malik scrambles through on the edge. no score one minute in. Aguilar in on another shot, but Heinselman gets a takedown with a re-attack. 2-0 Malik. Good Hustle form Aguilar to escape on the edge. Riding time at 0:21, now 2-1 for Malik. Aguilar keeps attacking, but Malik with another nice re-attack extends his lead to 4-1. He looks sharp thus far. Sit-out for an escape makes it 4-2. Aguilar looks for a late takedown but can't get it. 4-2 headed into the second.

Aguilar underneath to start the second gets a quick escape to make it 4-3. Another Aguilar attack puts them in a scramble that makes it a stalemate. Heinselman has owned the exchanges on the feet, but Aguilar's attack rate has kept him right in this one. One minute left in the second. Aguilar is doing a nice job controlling the center of the mat during the second half of this period. Nice shot for Heinselman. He's locked on a leg with 15 seconds left. Last second takedown for Malik makes it 6-3 heading into the 3rd, but the ref is reviewing his own call. Cal confirmed 6-3.

Heinselman down to start the 3rd and gets out quickly. He has a 4 point lead 7-3. He's hit for out of bounds stall warning. Aguilar is picking up his pace even more. Henselman dives in on a shot as Aguilar got a little wild moving forward. Malik finishes and now may think about bonus points as he leads 9-3. Aguilar gets an escape on the edge and it's 9-4 with 30 seconds left. Good low level attack from Malik, but he runs out of time. Riding time makes it 10-4. Malik looked solid.

133: Jordan Decatur, Ohio State vs #6 Sammy Alvarez, Rutgers

Deep shot for Decatur 10 seconds into the match, but Alvarez neutralizes the attack with his scrambling ability. Decatur shoots again but doesn't get in as deep this time. Still no score through the first minute. Decatur threw an underhook by to get to rear-standing and gets a mat return on the edge for a takedown as they go out of bounds. 2-0 Decatur with a minute to go in the first. Decatur tried to slip a leg in, but Alvarez turned it into a reversal. It's now 2-2, and Sammy's settling in on top with 30 seconds to go. Hard mat return for Alvarez. Time's up in the first 2-2.

Alvarez starts on bottom and escapes quickly. Decatur gets in on a low level attack, but Alvarez is working to scramble to neutral danger. So far no call. Alvarez does turn this into a neutral danger takedown and holds Decatur to get 4 near-fall. This guy is so dangerous in the scrambles! It's 9-2 with 30 to go in the second. Alvarez finishes on top with a 9-2 lead and just over a minute of riding time.

Decatur chooses neutral to start the third. Decatur's in deep again, but it's finishing that has been the problem. Stalemate with 1:20 to go. Decatur needs to score to save a team point. This time it's Alvarez in on a shot. Relatively quick finish makes it 11-2, and Alvarez is putting himself in position to give Rutgers the lead in this dual. He's going to finish on top, but he got called for an illegal mat return. Quick 2 near fall at the end, and a riding time point makes it a 14-3 major for Alvarez.

141: Dylan D'Emilio, Ohio State vs #1 Sebastian Rivera

It's D'Emilio for Ohio State. Rivera gets to rear-standing and finishes at 2:25 to take a 2-0 lead. De'Emilio escapes to make it 2-1. Deep shot for De'Emilio, and now tries to come out the back door. Rivera fights to a re-attack, but D'Emilio defends with a whizzer. Now Rivera brings the action to their feet and finishes with a tree-top. He's up 4-0. The action goes off the mat, so D'Emilio gets a fresh start. Rivera putting several mat-returns together to control the end of this period. It's 4-1 heading into the second.

D'Eimelio on bottom to start the second. Rivera tries to tilt but can't get it to go. Out of bounds with 1:42 left in the second. D'Emilio to his feet and out at 1:30 and immediately shoots. Rivera defends and gets in on his own single. He finishes the re-attack and takes a 6-2 lead. All the re-attacks have perhaps taken the life out of De'Emilio as he isn't coming to his feed. Rivera working to isolate an arm to work for a turn.

Rivera starts the third on bottom and gets a quick escape. He leads 7-2. Quick shot for Sea Bass. D'Emilio kicks out fo that one. 1:15 to go. We'll see if Rivera works for the major. One takedown and rideout would do it. D'Emilio's evading at the end here and gets hit for stalling then a second stall call as they go out of bounds. They come back to the center and Rivera gets a flash takedown. It finishes 11-2 with riding time for the major.

149: #1 Sammy Sasso, Ohio State vs Michael VanBrill, Rutgers

Sasso's the favorite here, and he has some team implications as Rutgers has rattled off two majors in a row. VanBrill gets a quick two off a throw by and leads Sasso early here 2-0. They're now in a scramble position, and Sasso eventually gets a reversal to tie it 2-2. VanBrill gets an escape and leads 3-2 with a minute to go. They're scrambling again, but the position gets stalemated. Pace slowed in the last 30 seconds of the period, and we're headed to the second 3-2 VanBrill.

VanBrill goes bottom in the second. He gets a quick escape and tries to go body lock. Sasso goes with it and he gets the takedown plus to nearfall. Sasso leads 6-4. Sasso has the leg in now and is sucking some life out of VanBrill. He has created some space to get to his feat, but Sasso did a nice job following. He's up 6-4 with a minute of riding time heading into the 3rd.

Sasso starts on bottom. Quick takedown, but VanBrill returns Sasso to the mat. He looked for a suck-back, but Sasso reversed him. He leads 8-4 and has a cradle locked up. VanBrill breaks the lock, but Sasso has him flat and now is over a minute of riding time. He cuts to look for the major. he scrambles for the takedown he leads 10-5. A riding time point makes it 11-5.

157: #25 Elijah Cleary, Ohio State vs Robert Kanniard, Rutgers

Those two bonus points are huge so far for Rutgers, and this 157 match is big. Cleary's the favorite. A little slower start to this match with no committed attacks in the first minute. Now Kanniard is in deep on a single. Cleary defends then gets deep on a re-attack. He finishes and leads 2-0. Kannaird is out. It's 2-1 with a minute to go. Cleary gets in deep on an attack, but can't finish. Kannaird was close to a defensive takedown but ran out of time.

Cleary will go down to start the second. He's out quickly and leads 3-1. Kanniard attacks with a high crotch and gets a takedown on the edge. It's 3-3 with just under a minute to go in the second as they go out of bounds. Caution for Kanniard on the restart. Cleary hits a switch for a reversal with 30 seconds to go. Who says those don't work at this level? Cleary rides tough as they go out of bounds with 7 seconds to go in the second. Kannaird gets an escape in the final second! Could be a big momentum shift. It's 5-4.

Bottom for Kannaird, and he escapes to tie it at 5. Riding time is not a factor. 45 seconds to go. Let's see if someone attacks. Cleary attacks, but Kannaird defends well. He's close to a takedown, but Cleary tries to go back-door. OT, baby!

Kannaird rips off a double with 30 to go and gets the takedown! Huge win for Rutgers in this dual!

It's mat-moppin time in Columbus. The Buckeyes will have some work to do after the break. Rutgers' two bonus points plus that upset at 157 have put them in a solid position in this dual, but tOSU is favored in 4 of the next 5 bouts. This one could come down to the wire. In about a minute, we'll get to see the second half of this dual.

165: #11 Ethan Smith, Ohio State vs Brett Donner, Rutgers

Smith fires off an attack right away, but Donner scrambles to a stalemate. Smith attacks again, then goes dump out of bounds. No takedown, but Donner gets hit for stalling. Smith's in deep on a single on the edge and this time gets it. It's 2-0 Smith. Donner gets an escape on the edge to make it 2-1. Another stall call makes it 3-1, and now Smith's in on another attack. He converts and it's 5-1. With 40 seconds to go, Donner knee slides to his feet, but the action goes out of bounds. Donner to his feet again, but they go out of bounds. 5 seconds left in the first.

Donner goes down to start the second. He gets out to make it 5-2, but Smith shoots immediately. He finishes with a leg turked. 7-2 lead and looking for nearfall. Smith is unable to turn, and Donner gets out. It's 7-3, but Donner gets hit for stalling again on a Smith attack. It's 8-3. That will do it for the second. It's 8-3 heading into the 3rd.

Smith on bottom in the 3rd. Quick escape for Smith makes it 9-3 He has almost 2 minutes of riding time. Donner is in deep on a shot. He does not want to give up this major. Stalemate with a minute to go. Smith gets in deep near the edge, but Donner sprawls hard to avoid giving it up. 25 seconds to go. Smith can't score. He gets a point for riding time, but it's a 7 point decision, 10-3.

174: #4 Kaleb Romero, Ohio State vs #24 Joe Grello, Rutgers

Big match here. Romero deep on a high crotch at 1:45. He comes to his feet with it and gets the takedown. It's 2-0. Fresh start as the action goes out of bounds, and Grello gets a quick escape. Romero shoots off the escape and gets another quick takedown. It's 4-1. Romero goes optional start with 50 seconds to go. He cuts Grello to work for more. Romero hits a single on the edge with about 10 seconds to go. He gets the takedown and leads 6-2 headed into the second.

Grello takes bottom in the second. The action goes out of bounds with 1:47 to go. Riding time is at 52 seconds. Romero cuts Grello after rt goes over a minute. 1:07 to go in the second as they go out of bounds. It's 6-3. Grello catches a finger to the eye with 44 to go in the period. Romero still leads 6-3. Another deep high crotch for Romero. Grello tries to defend, but Romero's too much. He leads 8-3 as we head to the 3rd period.

Romero starts on bottom in the third and gets a reversal in the first 15 seconds. Romero cuts Grello loose to look for the major. It's 10-4. Quick shot and finish makes it 12-4 for Romero. He's locked in. 54 seconds to go. Romero cuts Grello, but riding time is locked, so this 7 point lead is really an 8 point lead. And Romero tacks on another takedown with 25 to go. It's 14-5. Grello gets to his feet, but Romero returns on the edge. 4 seconds left. He finishes on top and wins 15-5 with riding time. Statement win right there. tOSU takes the lead.

184: #8 Rocky Jordan, Ohio State vs John Poznanski, Rutgers

Jordan drops in on a single immediately. Poznanski scrambles for a bit, but Jordan finishes to take an early 2-0 lead in the first 20 seconds. Poznanski gets to his feet a couple times, but Jordan has returned him thus far. Now he's out with 1:37 to go, but Jordan has over a minute of riding time. 2-1 Jordan. Poznanski goes single to double and gets a takedown. He leads 3-2 and erased riding time before Jordan escapes to tie it at 3 with about 40 seconds to go. Poznanski got locked on another single, but this time Jordan defends. Heading into the second period tied at 3.

Jordan takes down to start the second. He gets to his feet right away, but Poznanski returns. Now he's out to make it 4-3 with 1:38 to go in the second. Jordan gets to a leg, but Poznanski gets his leg free and gets a takedown on a re-attack. Poz leads 5-4. Poznanski is doing a nice job forcing Jordan to cary his weight on bottom. Jordan needs an escape with 20 seconds to go in the second. He's able to ride out the period, and he'll have choice in the third.

Poznanski goes underneath to start the 3rd. Jordan has been able to ride tough through the first 15 seconds. Poznanski gets out at 1:38. He now leads 6-4. Jordan working from short offense. Out of bounds with 1:07 to go. Jordan drops in on a low single and ties it. He cuts Poznanski to look for another takedown. Poznanski leads 7-6. Jordan shoots, but Poznanski runs behind. He now leads 9-6. He rides out for the win. Huge for Rutgers in this dual.

197: Gavin Hoffman, Ohio State vs #14 Billy Janzer, Rutgers

Hoffman takes the mat for tOSU, and his team really needs him. These last two matches are absolutely huge. Janzer close to a takedown on the edge, but it's ruled no 2. Rutgers challenges the call on the edge. This is the first challenge of the dual. Solid calls all day so far. No takedown confirmed, and we're back to action 0-0. Janzer in on another shot on the edge, but Hoffman scrambles well. The go out of bounds at 1:35, and nobody can score so far. Janzer takes a shot from an underhook, but Hoffman clears. Still no score at the end of the first.

Janzer takes bottom in the second. He goes quad pod standup to score the first point of the match early in the second. 1-0 Janzer. Hoffman now in deep on a high crotch. Janzer defends by locking through the crotch, but Hoffman eventually converts. He leads 2-1 with a minute to go in the second. Janzer ties it at 2 with an escape at 44 to go in the second.

2-2 in the 3rd, and Hoffman chooses bottom. Hoffman gets up and out in the first 10 seconds of the period. He leads 3-2. Hoffman shoots, and now Janzer's working from short offense. Out of bounds with 1:15 left in the 3rd. Both guys shoot, but neither can get to a lock. 30 seconds to go as we go out of bounds. Janzer picks up his ootwork and gets to a seatbelt position off a shot. Hoffman whizzers, and we're out of bounds with 5 seconds to go. Janzer looked for a go-behind at the end, but Hoffman held him off. Huge win for the Buckeyes as Hoffman takes it 3-2!

285: #11 Tate Orndorff, Ohio State vs Christian Colucci, Rutgers

Dual's on the line at heavyweight. Tate Orndorff is the #11 man in the country, but in this strange season, he's 0-2. This would be a great time for his first win of the year. No committed attacks by either guy in the first minute. Orndorff threatens with a body lock. He's getting the better of the handfight so far in this match. Still no score with 1 minute to go in the first. No score after 1 in this bout that will decide the dual.

Colucci takes bottom to start the second and goes quad pod right away. He sticks with it and gets an escape. Colucci leads 1-0 with 1:15 to go. Ordorff continues to pummel for potential Greco positions. Colucci is not interested in those positions. Orndorff takes Colucci out of bounds with a body lock with 20 seconds to go. Colucci hit for stalling. That's his first warning. Still 1-0 at the end of the second.

Orndorff takes bottom to start the 3rd. Orndorff gets out quickly and this match is tied 1-1. Orndorff hand-fights Colucci out of bounds and picks up another stall call. Orndorff now leads 2-1. He takes Colucci out again, but this time action is the call. Colucci shoots with a minute to go, but Orndorff runs behind. He gets an edge of the mat takedown and leads 4-1 with 44 seconds to go. Colucci gets out. 30 seconds for him to tie this with a takedown. It's 4-2 Orndorff. Colucci shoots again but can't score. Orndorff's first Buckeye win gives the team the dual. Great dual!
