RICHMOND, Va. (Dec. 20, 2021) – Hofstra junior Aaron Estrada and UNCW freshman Trazarien White have been selected as Colonial Athletic Association weekly award recipients in men’s basketball for their performances over the last week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Aaron Estrada, Hofstra

Junior | Guard | Woodbury, N.J. / St. Benedict’s

Estrada is the first two-time Player of the Week in the CAA this season after leading Hofstra to a marquee win over No. 24 Arkansas on Saturday night in North Little Rock. The junior from New Jersey led the way for Hofstra with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists in a game the Pride led for the final 31 minutes of the contest. Estrada was 7-of-12 from the field and 8-for-8 at the free-throw line while recording a career-best performance on the glass.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Trazarien White, UNCW

Freshman | Guard | Mansfield, Texas / Timberview

White led UNCW to a pair of wins over in-state opponents with a home victory over Mount Olive before the Seahawks earned an overtime road win at High Point. The freshman from Texas averaged 13.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game with seven rebounds in each of UNCW’s two victories. White was 9-of-13 shooting and 3-of-3 from distance in a 21-point effort Wednesday.
