GEORGETOWN, DE – Round two.

With the ‘Rebel 50’ in the books at South Carolina’s Cherokee Speedway, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco heads to Georgetown Speedway next.

The historic southern Delaware half-mile plays host to Round No. 2 of the Halmar International ‘Elite’ Series. The Melvin L. Joseph Memorial pays another $25,000 to the winner of the 49-lap affair.

Ringoes, N.J.’s Ryan Godown claimed the inaugural STSS ‘Elite’ affair in the ‘Rebel 50’ at “The Place Your Mama You About.” Godown leads the standings for the six-race series into the Melvin L. Joseph Memorial.

The first of three visits for the STSS to Georgetown Speedway in 2022 takes place on March 10-12. March 10 (Thursday) serves as a practice night for all divisions.

Racing begins on March 11 (Friday) with the PA/NJ Spec Small-Block Modifieds racing 30-laps for a $4,049 payday to the winner. The RUSH Late Models join the Friday program for 20-laps and a $1,049 top prize.

The STSS Modifieds and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman will each get two rounds of practice on Friday night. One of the two rounds will be timed, with the fast timer in each division locking into Saturday’s Beyea Custom Headers Redraw.

The Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Delaware Super Trucks and Delmarva Chargers are also on the schedule for 12-lap, feature-only events.

STSS Modifieds take center stage on March 12 (Saturday), as the Modifieds race for the largest dirt-track purse in the history of the First State. A purse near $80,000 will be distributed, with a whopping $25,000 reserved for the winner.

The second round of the Halmar International ‘Elite’ Series also falls into its familiar spot as the opener to the Hurlock Auto & Speed South Region for the STSS Modifieds.

The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman race in their points opener to the Belmont’s Garage South Region. The Crate 602 Sportsman battle for 25-laps and a $1,549 top prize to kick off their 2022 Northeast campaign.

The Little Lincolns, Delmarva Chargers, and Delaware Super Trucks join Saturday’s affair for 12-lap feature-only programs.

In total between the two nights of racing, over $115,000 is scheduled to be distributed. In addition to the purse money, several certificates and awards make the weekend in the First State even more lucrative.

Sunday, March 13 is reserved as a rain date.
