Flo's NCAA Freshman Wish List: Casey Swiderski
Casey Swiderski had a thrilling senior season and now is at Iowa State. He may go right away for the Cyclones, and these matches could help Dresser decide.
Casey Swiderski is a kid that not only knows how to win wrestling matches, he knows how to prepare himself to win. He understands his body and how it will react to training environments. He knows how to set a goal and peak for it, just look at the results that he’s had against Jesse Mendez in their two meetings.
The Tech Side Of Things
Just in case Cyclone fans needed more reason to be excited about Swiderski he fits the mold of NCAA All-Americans perfectly. One of the most effective scoring techniques at the NCAA tournament for a long time running has been a simple go-behind. The video above shows just how fast Swiderski is on his Go-Behinds.
Competition Wish List
If Iowa State does decide to redshirt Swiderski these are the 5 dates we hope he uses. The first big test would be in Carver-Hawkeye Arena on December 4 against #2 Real Woods, the high-powered All-American transfer from Stanford. He could also see the top man in the country in a February 4 dual when Cole Matthews and the Pitt Panthers welcome the Cyclones for a dual. ASU's Jesse Vazquez and Oklahoma State's #17 Carter Young will also offer tough tests.
Cyclone fans will also want to see Casey Swiderski in a tournament format, and the Southern Scuffle just might be the toughest test as it's likely to include #3 Jake Bergeland, #5 Andrew Alirez, and #7 Alan Hart to name a few.
Dec 4 vs #3 Real Woods, Iowa
Jan 1-2 @ Southern Scuffle (#3 Jake Bergeland, #5 Andrew Alirez, #7 Alan Hart, #13 Parker Filius, #14 Dylan Droegemueller)
Jan 8 vs Jesse Vasquez, Arizona State
Jan 29 vs #17 Carter Young, Oklahoma State
