The South Atlantic Conference announced its Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during the fourth week of the 2022 season. Carson-Newman midfielder Sydnee Duncan was named the offensive player of the week, while Carson-Newman goalkeeper Laura Germes was named defensive player of the week.

Duncan, a sophomore from Athens, Tenn., led the Eagles to a pair of SAC wins last week as they defeated Limestone 1-0 and Wingate 3-1. She scored two goals, including the game-winning goal, and earned four points in the win over Wingate.

Germes, a freshman from Haarlem, Netherlands, picked up a pair of victories in the goal for the Eagles last week. She made three saves and earned the shutout victory over Limestone, and she made five saves, including a penalty kick save, in the Eagles’ 3-1 win over Wingate. For the week she had eight saves and allowed just one goal with a shutout.
