17 Can't-Miss Quarterfinals At Super 32
17 Can't-Miss Quarterfinals At Super 32
Day 1 is in the books at Super 32. Here are some incredible quarterfinals to look forward to at the start of the competition tomorrow.
Every Super 32 quarterfinal tomorrow will be worth watching, but these 17 are especially intriguing. Take a look at these quarterfinal matchups we think you'll really enjoy.
106 - #8 Aaron Seidel vs Michael Romero
PIAA champ Seidel might be the only one in this matchup with a ranking next to his name, but that's only because Michael Romero is still in 8th grade. The Californian was a Fargo champ at 100 lbs this summer and recently beat #12 Tyler Dekraker at Journeymen. Folkstyle is Seidel's preferred style, so this one should be a whole lot of fun.
106 - #5 Dominic Munaretto vs #12 Tyler Dekraker
Both Munaretto and Dekraker are already ranked as freshmen. Munaretto proved himself domestically in a tough 45 kg bracket at the U17 World Team Trials then one-upped himself by winning a World title. Dekraker finished 7th this summer at both U17 Trials and Fargo. The Blair Academy lightweight will look to win a belt in his first try, but all roads lead through the World champ.
113 - #16 Louie Gill vs #7 Nate Desmond
Both Gill and Desmond earned PIAA titles in their freshman seasons. Gill's came in 2021 and Desmond's in 2022. Despite being prominent Pennsylvania lightweights, the two haven't met since middle school. They'll look to prove Keystone State dominance first thing in the morning in the quarterfinals.
120 - #1 Jax Forrest vs #11 Jordyn Raney
Fargo placer Raney rattled the brackets in North Dakota by pinning Jax Forrest’s teammate Bo Bassett this summer. Forrest, a U17 World silver medalist, is certainly the favorite in this matchup, but Raney has proven that he can hang with anyone.
120 - #5 Marcus Blaze vs #7 Jake Crapps
What’s better than a top-ten matchup in the quarterfinals? That’s what we’ll have on our hands between Blaze and Crapps. Georgia native Crapps navigated his way to a Super 32 final a year ago. Blaze finished fifth in the same bracket. Since that time, Blaze has had victories over both Anthony Knox and Luke Lilledahl. Neither of these guys backs down from a challenge, so look forward to an all-out war.
120 - #8 Vinny Kilkeary vs #3 Alan Koehler
This top-ten matchup will be a Fargo rematch. Koehler got the better of Kilkeary in that one. Since that time, both Kilkeary and Koehler have been active and have notched ranked victories. Most notably, Kilkeary beat Mason Gibson at True Power. Big moves are definitely possible in this bout, so don't miss it.

126 - #8 Aden Valencia vs #14 Max Gallagher
Aden Valencia will look to compete in his second straight Super 32 final, but the Fargo finalist will have to get past New York state champ Max Gallagher. Gallagher and Valencia were actually slated to compete in the 5th place match in Fargo, but a Valencia injury prevent that from happening. Now we could see it with a spot in the Super 32 semis on the line.
132 - #13 Landon Robideau vs #6 Kyler Larkin
This quarterfinal will be a rematch of the 2021 Fargo finals. In that match, Larkin came up clutch with a takedown in the closing seconds that earned him a 3-1 victory and a stop sign to go with it. Robideau will look to settle the score tomorrow.

138 - #9 Anthony Evanitsky vs #7 Vince Bouzakis
An all-Pennsylvania battle in the quarterfinals! Evanitsky was third in Pennsylvania last season while Bouzakis competes in National Preps, so this may be the only time we get to see these two square off. Bouzakis was a runner-up in Fargo this summer and has been ultra-impressive so far.
145 - #6 Joel Adams vs #13 Weston Dalton
Weston Dalton upset Adams last month at Elite 8 Duals, but Adams doesn't have to wait long for an opportunity to even the score. Take a look at their previous meeting below before the two renew their series in the morning.

145 - #13 Kael Voinovich vs #5 Koy Buesgens
Earlier this week, it appeared that Koy Buesgens might wrestle #3 Mac Church at Super 32 for the second straight year. Kael Voinovich spoiled that plan in the round of 16 when he narrowly beat Church 2-1. Now, a renewed Voinovich will take on Buesgens in what should be a fun quarterfinal.
145 - #11 Cooper Haase vs #14 Cross Wasilewski
Haase and Wasilewski are coming off strong performances at Elite 8 Duals. Haase was undefeated at 138 lbs while Wasilewski went 5-2 at 145 lbs with a victory over #6 Joel Adams. Now they'll meet with a spot in the Super 32 semis on the line.
145 - #9 Collin Gaj vs #7 Dylan Gilcher
Quakerstown, Pennsylvania sophomore Collin Gaj is a rising star in high school wrestling. If he wants to show his skills on the big Super 32 stage tomorrow, he'll have to get past Michigan commit Dylan Gilcher first. The DCC senior has been clutch in tight matches thus far at Super 32, and he'll be difficult to beat.
152 - #11 Collin Guffey vs #9 Zach Hanson
NHSCA finalist Collin Guffey has been wrestling well of late. He had multiple ranked wins at Elite 8 Duals, and he's already proven he's ready for the Super 32 stage. He'll take on double Fargo champ Zach Hanson in the morning. Hanson has been a staple on the high school scene for a while, and he'll be the favorite in this ranked matchup.
152 - #7 Latrell Schafer vs #8 Ty Watters
This might be the biggest style clash of the quarters. Schafer's savvy leg-attacks helped him to an upset victory over LaDarion Lockett at Elite 8 Duals, but Watters' scrambling ability regularly sees him scoring on his opponents' attacks. Buckle up for a wild one at 152 lbs.
160 - #9 Andrew Christie vs #3 Nicco Ruiz
Returning PIAA runner-up Andrew Christie has been on a tear so far through the 160 pound bracket as he has not given up a single point heading into the quarterfinals. He’ll be taking on a returning Super 32 champion in Nicco Ruiz. Will Christie be able to keep his streak alive? Tune in tomorrow to find out!
170 - #1 Rocco Welsh vs Ty Eise
After taking over as the #1 170 pounder in the country last month at Who’s Number One, Rocco Welsh has been on fire the last year and is looking to add a Super 32 belt to his already impressive resume. Standing in his way tomorrow morning will be Ty Eise. Although Eise may not have a national ranking yet, he has been wrestling a great tournament so far and is coming off a win over #8 Harvey Lundington in the round of 16. Eise will have his eyes set on keeping the ball rolling and spoiling the party for another ranked wrestler.
