Lenoir-Rhyne’s outside hitter Ashley Hawkins was named SAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Lenoir-Rhyne’s defensive specialist Bailey Carpenter was named SAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Hawkins, a graduate student from Olin, North Carolina, had 27 kills and hit .292 in a 2-0 week against Anderson (3-1) and Newberry (3-0).
She hit .444 with 14 kills in a three-set win over the Wolves on Saturday and added 12 total digs and five services aces for the week.
Carpenter, a graduate student from Lawrenceville, Georgia, led the Bears to a 2-0 week with a win over Anderson (3-1), where she recorded 20 digs.
She totaled 31 digs on the week, good for 4.4 digs per set.
