But when his uncle, and OSU head coach, John Smith decided to recruit Johny Hendricks in his weight class, things went awry. Bothered by the decision, Perry made the bold move to wrestle for the University of Iowa instead. Johny Hendricks became Mark Perry's #1 nemesis... the rest is history.

Now, he wants to put himself in the conversation with elite coaches like John Smith, J Robinson, Cael Sanderson. He wants to develop teams that win NCAA titles. In episode two of DRIVEN, we take a look at the close-knit relationship Perry has with with the wrestlers he recruits and trains (like Jesse Delgado); we examine his bond with his brother Chris and the predicament he found himself in while coaching against him. In the end, coach Perry shows us that his ambitious nature off the mat is rivaled by his willingness to rejoice with his family when brother Chris is successful.
