Take a bow, Oklahoma softball. You achieved greatness on a scale unlike anything ever seen before in the sport.

During a recent staff meeting, Oklahoma State Director of Athletics Mike Holder was discussing the school’s spring season and the uncertainty that’s expected to come with it. At one point, he said something that particularly resonated with head softball coach Kenny Gajewski and his assistant coaches.

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma head softball coach Patty Gasso announced Friday the addition of transfer infielder Jana Johns from the University of South Carolina. 

Softball is back.

STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State softball program bolstered its roster with the addition of Jordan Doggett from the University of Georgia. The senior joins the Cowgirls after three productive seasons that saw her start 135 games for a strong SEC team. 

It should come as no surprise the Oklahoma Sooners were once again voted the favorite in the 2020 Big 12 Preseason Coaches’ Poll. After all, they’ve won eight consecutive regular-season conference titles, becoming the first team to finish Big 12 play undefeated in back-to-back seasons. OU has won 54 consecutive conference series and hasn’t lost one since 2011.

Freshman pitcher, Emmy Guthrie is geared up to join the Oklahoma dynasty. The Oklahoma native joins an all-star group of recruits who will likely see a championship in their future. We catch up with Guthrie and get her insight into her recruiting experience.

Losing Nebraska, Missouri, Texas A&M, and the Big 12 Tournament in the last five years landed a big blow to the Big 12 Softball Conference. As a fan and former Longhorn, it makes me sad to see a once powerful conference dismantled into seven teams (Baylor, OU, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech, Kansas, and Iowa State). Don't get me wrong the Big 12 has heavy weight fighting teams in OU, Baylor, and Texas. But can you imagine what the conference would be like if the Big 12 still had those teams?
