Originally from Dagestan, Ali Shabanov is a four-time freestyle world medalist for Belarus, where his name is spelled Shabanau. He is scheduled to compete in the Tokyo Olympics at 86 kg. It will be his second Olympics for Belarus, with his first being the 2012 games where he competed at 66 kg.
