Ranked first in the nation as of June, 30th, 2021 at 138 pounds, Jesse Mendez will be set to compete at the Who's Number One event in Dallas, TX September 2021. Mendez is no stranger to Who's Number One, competing there in 2020 knocking off Jordan Williams 3-2. Mendez has had a very successful career to get him to this point. Mendez was a three time Indiana middle school state champion winning titles in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Mendez began his high school career in the 2018-2019 season going 42-0 en route to his first state title at 126 pounds. In that offseason, Mendez won the UWW cadet nationals to make the Cadet world team at 60 kg.
