The Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic, formerly the Dapper Dan, has a long-standing tradition of showcasing high school wrestling excellence. Every year, they pit the toughest Pennsylvania high school seniors against the highest-ranked national competitors they can find. This year's PA All-Star team includes 8 nationally ranked wrestlers, half of whom are ranked in the top ten in the country. Team USA? There's nothing quite like Super 32. This year's field includes over 60% of the nation's 280 top-twenty-ranked wrestlers. That group includes eight of 14 #1's and six weights where the two highest-ranked wrestlers at the weight could square off for the number one spot. After 2021 we shouldn’t take normal day-to-day living for granted. It was great to be back in the Giant Center for a three-day tournament. The social aspect of the three-day reunion of former coaches, teammates, rivals, and friends was lost last year as the competitors were shuffled in and out of the Giant Center as quickly as possible to prevent mass interaction. It is what makes Pennsylvania wrestling so special. So many former competitors giving back to the sport. You can often find college level coaching staffs sitting in the corner at the PIAA State Championships. It's a special three days, and I was grateful it was back to normal. The PIAA Championships return to FloWrestling March 10-12. All bouts will be streamed live starting with AA on Thursday morning at 9am EST. The seeds are out which set the stage for some incredible matchups including a potential Who's Number One rematch at 172 lbs between Gabe Arnold and Rocco Welsh, the return of #1 Nic Bouzakis, and nearly 50 top-20 ranked wrestlers.
