A Greco - Roman competitor for Serbia, Mate Nemes has been on the international scene since his cadet days in 2008. When Nemes moved to the junior level he was a silver medalist at the Austrian cup, and a bronze medalist at the European championships before representing Serbia at the junior world championships in 2013. Nemes moved to the senior level at the end of 2013 and in 2016 won the Ljubomir Ivanovic Gedza International before finishing as a bronze medalist at the U23 European championships. Nemes began his 2017 campaign with bronze medals at the grand prix's of Zegrab and Hungary. In 2018, Nemes was a bronze medalist at the Ljubomir Ivanovic Gedza International and grand prix of Hungary ranking series.
