Michigan's 100th season of wrestling was also one of its most unforgettable.

There's no bigger event on the opening weekend of NCAA wrestling than the Michigan State Open. With double-digit D1 teams, we're sure to see incredible matches and rankings shakeups. For some time now the topic in major team sports leagues has been the formation of super teams and what they can accomplish. With the movement in coaching this summer the question should now arise: what about coaching super staffs in college wrestling? Some may come easily to mind but there are more than you may think.

Soon there will be a gathering where the Big Ten 141-pounders will vie for the great prize. While the fate of humanity does not hinge on the outcome, it is still a pretty big deal. As this strange covid season of 2021 reaches the conclusion, we find the top four ranked wrestlers in the country all in the same conference. 

The post-season is here. We have to wait an extra week for the biggest and baddest conference tournament of them all, but that just gives us more time to preview, prognosticate, and predict what will happen. What a nice little Valentine’s Day treat! After being postponed earlier this season due to a University of Michigan athletic department-wide pause, Penn State-Michigan has been rescheduled for Sunday at 11 AM ET in Ann Arbor.
