2023-24 NCAA DI Rankings
165 - David Carr
David Carr takes over the top spot at 165 pounds after winning NCAAs with wins over Keegan O'Toole in the semi-finals and Mitchell Mesenbrink in the finals. O'Toole stays ahead of Mesenbrink because of his overall resume and his win over Carr at Big 12s.
Though he didn't All-American, Dean Hamiti stays ahead of wrestlers who did reach the podium. Hamiti had a spectacular season and lost only to David Carr and Izzak Olejnik at the NCAA Tournament.
Similar to Olejnik, Cam Amine and Julian Ramirez stay ranked ahead of Antrell Taylor even though Amine and Ramirez didn't All-American while Taylor placed 8th. Amine just defeated Taylor two weeks ago at Big 10s and Amine also defeated Oljenik at NCAAs while losing to Mesenbrink and Garvin. Garvin then went on to defeat Peyton Hall who defeated Taylor for 7th. Julian Ramirez remains ranked ahead of Taylor since he entered the tournament ranked 3rd based on his regular season win over David Carr and then only lost to Michael Caliendo and Peyton Hall.
