It's hard to overstate how much exciting college wrestling took place this past weekend. All seven conferences held their championships over the last few days and determined the majority of the qualifiers for the 2024 NCAA Championships that will take place in less than two weeks in Kansas City, Missouri.

There was a fairly substantial amount of upsets in the eighth week of the 2023-24 NCAA D1 wrestling season.

The best college wrestling rivalry gets one more season and possibly three more rounds. NCAA champions Keegan O’Toole (Missouri) and David Carr (Iowa State) seem destined to reach the 2024 NCAA tournament finals following a thrilling three-match series over the span of a month in 2023.

One of the brightest young freshmen in the NCAA, Mitch Mesenbrink,  is competing at one of the newest young programs in the NCAA, Cal Baptist. Mesenbrink capped a break-out summer with a Junior World silver medal and enters the NCAA ranks with high expectations.

With the 2021 champ moving up to 165 and the 2022 champ moving on to coaching, 157 has become a weight very much up for grabs. There will be some key guys hopefully healed up, moving up, and coming in. Let’s dig in!

One of my favorite age-level tournaments of the year has arrived - the Junior World Team Trials. The nation’s best high school upperclassmen and college underclassmen putting it on the line for a chance to represent their country overseas.

U20 Nationals (formerly known as UWW Junior Nationals) is one of my favorite age-level tournaments every year. The top high school upperclassmen get to test themselves against the best first or second year college guys who are often hungry to compete coming out of redshirt. It's the first step in making the Junior World Team as the winner of this event will earn an automatic berth to the best-of-three wrestle-off series against the World Team Trials challenge tournament champion in June.

the U20 division at the US Open attracts some of the most ambitious high schoolers and young college wrestlers, and the U17 World Team Trials are one of the pinnacles in the sport. As a result, more than 100 ranked high school wrestlers will be in action in Las Vegas this weekend. Check out the ranked wrestlers and their full fields below.

Every year the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic finds the best wrestlers from Pennsylvania and then tests them against a team of all-stars from around the country. This year's US squad is incredible. It features two #1 ranked wrestlers, and all 13 athletes are ranked seventh or better in the nation. Team Pennsylvania athletes will be announced in the coming weeks.
