Returning PIAA champion Rocco Welsh continued to show the separation he has created at this weight class between him and the field, as he picked up two more controlled wins over #3 Matthew Furman. The #1 ranked 170-pounder in the country will look to close out his career with a second state title before heading to Ohio State next season. Returning state medalist Dominic Wheatley defeated #3 Furman, #6 Terrell McFarland, #6 Luke Thomas, and #8 Jared Karabinus over the last month to move up to the #2 ranking at 172 pounds. McFarland has had a great freshman season and picked up wins over #7 Thomas and #8 Karabinus to enter the rankings at #6. Mark Gray won the Southwest Region title to move into the rankings at #9, while Blaise Eidle has had a strong 58-match season and entered the rankings at #10.
